William died on 12 December 1830 at New South Wales, Australia.¹ His body was interred at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia, at Pioneer Cemetery.¹

     Charlotte was born at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia, on 11 January 1834.¹ She married William Archibald Gardiner on 11 January 1853.¹ Charlotte died on 4 July 1892 at New South Wales, Australia, at age 58.¹ Her body was interred at Orange, New South Wales, Australia.¹

     Charles was born at Denham Court, Lower Minto, New South Wales, Australia, on 30 June 1836.¹ Charles died on 25 July 1891 at New South Wales, Australia, at age 55.¹ His body was interred at Tumut, New South Wales, Australia.¹

     William? died. William? was born. He The first name of William is questioned in the genealogical sheet obtained from Ophelia Fink at Tumut in 1990. He married Ann (?).

     Ann died. Ann was born. She married (?) Williams.¹

     She married William Henry Callaway Jr (4).

     He married Mary Elizabeth Martin.

     She married Wiley E Curlee.

     He married Harriet Miles.

     She married William Scriven.

     She married Stanley McQueen.

     He married Winifred Annie Scriven.

     Jane Liversidge Jane Liversidge (Stuart). In letter dated August 10th, 1870, from Mary Liversidge, her mother, to Henry Hargreaves in Australia: ``She married a young man called Thos. Stuart and they are liveing [sic] with us. They have no children. They are both runing [sic] four looms each'' I have several sworn statements (24 September 1927 and 17 April 1928) of Jane Stuart in a legal matter concerning the estate of Richard Hargreaves, son of Enoch. She wrote these at age 84 and was living at that time at 31 Wyre Grove, Blackpool, England. I obtained these statements from Jim Waddell via Colin Hargreaves on December 30, 1988.

Birth certificate spells her name Liversedge, but Liversidge appears in sister's birth certificate. Jane was born at Cheapside, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 26 June 1843.⁴ Her married name was Stuart.⁵ She married Thomas Stuart at England.⁵ Jane died after 17 April 1928.

     He married Jane Liversidge at England.¹

     John Hargreaves Liversidge In letter from Mary Hargreaves Liveridge [782], his mother, to Henry Hargreaves, we find ``My eldest son John is 25 years old. He is also married And as [sic] two children and he lives in Milton Street Fulldge Burnley. He works in a waste dealing warehouse.'' The letter is dated February 1st, 1870 (photocopy to me from Colin Hargreaves in May 1988).

His death certificate lists his occupation as "A Loom Oiler in a Cotton Mill". John was born at Cheapside, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 19 February 1845.² John died on 18 April 1898 at 18 Acre Street, Burnley, Lancashire, England, at age 53.^4,3

     Ephraim Liversidge In same letter as for his brother, we find that ``he has now been a soldier better than three years. He is know [sic] in India but he sends us a letter once a month to let us know how he is geting [sic] on.'' Sometimes the spelling is ``Ephriam''. In a letter to ``Cousin Stella'' sent to me by Jim Waddell via Colin Hargreaves on December 30, 1988, the first name is spelled Ephraim. Jim's cover letter states that the letterwriter might be Jane Stuart, but this is inconsistent with her being Ephraim's daughter.

His death certificate lists his occupation as "Tailor (Journeyman)". It also says "Of Gregson's L. H. Colne" under "Occupation". Ephraim was born at Cheapside, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 15 September 1848.⁴ Ephraim died on 17 February 1921 at 118 Briarcliff Road, Burnley, Lancashire, England, at age 72.^5,3

     Bridget Ann Liversidge "Of 7 Charles Street Burnley" in death certificate. Bridget was born at Lower House, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 12 February 1854.^4,2 She married Samuel Bone at Lancashire, England.³ Bridget died on 31 March 1919 at Union Infirmary, Burnley, Lancashire, England, at age 65.^5,3

     He married Bridget Ann Liversidge at Lancashire, England.¹

     Jane was born circa 1814.^1,2 She married James Hargreaves.² Her married name was Hargreaves.² Jane died on 28 August 1866 at 2 River Street, Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England.^3,2

     Giles Hoyle Hargreaves See Mary Hargreaves, his sister, for evidence that he had more than one child and that they all died as children.

He was dead by the time of the James Hargreaves 25 February 1845 letter to Henry Hargreaves: "we fall off one by one out of 11 - 8 are gone"

He is listed as a "Weaver" in his son Giles' death certificate. Giles was born at Padiham, Lancashire, England, on 26 April 1810.⁴ He was christened at Padiham, Lancashire, England, on 29 July 1810. He married Elizabeth Nuttall at Bolton, Lancashire, England, on 11 March 1832. Son Giles' death certificate mentions that he is "Son of Giles Hargreaves Weaver" and that the informant of death was "Betty [her mark] Hargreaves present at Death, Water Street, Burnley".¹ Giles died before 25 February 1845.

     Enoch Hargreaves From "Requirements in Connection with Proofs of Kinship'' from Jim Waddell via Colin Hargreaves, December 30, 1988: The Public Trustee of New South Wales holds Enoch's death certificate. He died at Salford Burnley on 20/2/1845 at age 21 years. Informant was Alice Hargreaves, his wife. Her death certificate is also held. She died 10/4/1882 at Habergham Eaves, aged 58 years. The informant in this case was Sarah Little, her sister, of 7 Watkinson Court, Habergham Eaves.

Enoch's occupation is given as "weaver" in his son Richard's birth certificate and in his own death certificate, and as a "cotton weaver" in his wife Alice's death certificate. Enoch was born at Padiham, Lancashire, England, before 7 December 1823. His death certificate lists his age at death as "21 years"..^5,6 He was christened at Padiham, Lancashire, England, on 7 December 1823. He married Alice Harris at England before 1 January 1844.² Enoch died on 20 February 1845 at Salford, Burnley, Lancashire, England, at age 21.^7,6

     Giles was born at Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 17 July 1837. Lists his age as "14 Months" at death..¹ Giles died on 28 August 1838 at Water Street, Burnley, Lancashire, England, at age 1.^2,1

     Alice was born at England circa 1824. Lists her age as "58 years" at time of death..¹ She married Enoch Hargreaves at England before 1 January 1844.² Alice died on 10 April 1882 at 7 Watkinson Court, Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England.^3,1

     Richard Hargreaves This is the recipient of Henry's famous letter of 1870. The letter itself does not contain Richard's name, but one of the transcribers appends this note to her transcription: "The Original of this letter was posted to England to Richard Hargreaves (nephew of the writer) and brought by him, back to Australia. This copy was made by a granddaughter of the writer 76 years after the original was written." Richard later came to New South Wales and lived at ``Burnley Cottage'', Neutral Bay (Sydney). Henry wrote his famous letter to Richard to console him on the death of Richard's child.

Richard's occupation is listed as "mechanic" in son Walter's birth certificate and his daughter Clara's death certificate. Richard was born at Fountain Street, Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 1 January 1844.⁴ He was christened at Burnley, Lancashire, England, on 11 February 1844.¹ He married Martha Alice Whitaker at Lancashire, England, before May 1869.^1,2,3 Richard immigrated, on 15 April 1875. Destination: (an unknown value).¹ Richard died in July 1925 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, at age 81.

     Angelina died. She Angelina Hargreaves Brown. Her mother is not known. Angelina was born in 1866. She married Frank Brown on 30 June 1888.

     Clara Hargreaves Died as infant. This is the death that prompted Henry Hargreaves to write the famous letter to Richard in 1870 from Australia detailing his life there. Clara was born at Lancashire, England, in May 1869. Her age is listed as "8 months" on her death certificate..² Clara died on 20 January 1870 at Westgate, Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England.^3,2
