Mary Hargreaves In a letter to Henry Hargreaves from Mary, August 10, 1870, she refers to ``Cousin Bridget & Unice Whitaker''. Notice that her mother's name is Bridget Whitaker. In a letter date February 1, 1870, she refers to ``Cousin Enoch's son'' and to ``our Cousin Bridget & Eunice are living at Highs [or Hughs or Thighs] Barn and they are both very well. Bridget's husband is a farmer. But Eunice still goes to the mill as a weaver ... you wanted to know how Giles & Enoch's children are geting [sic] on. Giles' children are all dead but Enoch's son Richard is liveing [sic] and has got 26 years old. He is married and as [sic] had a child but they buried it about a week since. He is a mechanic by trade and send is [sic] kind reguards [sic] to you is [sic] uncle.'' I believe Cousin Enoch is different from brother Enoch. Colin Hargreaves passed several items of interest to me December 30, 1988. These were passed to him by his grandson, Jim Waddell, on October 20, 1988. Mary's death date is from this information. All the information about Mary's children and siblings is also from this information, which Jim says were found among his aunt Stella's things after her death. Mary's christening date is from Anne Shipp's family tree for John Hargreaves. Mary was born at Padiham, Lancashire, England, before 14 January 1821.7 She was christened at Padiham, Lancashire, England, on 14 January 1821. She married Samuel Liversidge at Lancashire, England. Occupation listed as "Widow of Samuel Liversidge a Master Tailor" in her death certificate..8 Mary died on 17 May 1887 at 9 Topping Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, England, at age 66.9,8

SINA HARRIS1,2,3,4,5
F, b. February 1830, d. after 11 April 1910
Father | DAVID HARRIS b. c 1800, d. 26 Dec 1848 |
Mother | FRANCES BIARDEN (BURDEN)(BEARDEN) |
SINA HARRIS English-Irish-Welsh. Came from Missouri to Texas. Buried: Alamogordo, NM. Source: Dorothy Lee Parrish family tree.
Her name is given (incorrectly) as Lena Herns in the WFT evidence and in the Carroll Co, AR, First Families, evidence. This error has been explained as follows: Rick Miller (descendant of Sina Harris) obtained the marriage certificate for Sina and Sheppard. It is handwritten, and - if one did not know her name to be Sina Harris - one could read her name as Lena Herns. The S could be taken as an L and so forth.
Also see Text for Sheppard Baker.
From Alvy (2) Smith in an email of 12 Mar 2000:
"Alline Baker Williams Jones (daughter of Joseph Baker - Grandmother Martha's brother [Martha Ann Baker]) reported that in 1900 Sina was living with her son Joe at Lakewood, NM - lived there until 1910 when she moved to Mayhill - I remember mother saying that she lived with Grandmother part of the time and with Joe part of the time.
An interesting note: When Mother's brother, Melvin McKindrey, had his accident - Grandmother had taken Sina to Lakewood - a 3 day trip by buggy - Someone rode all the way from Mayhill to Lakewood to bring her back - Melvin lived only a few days. He died in 1907"
See text for husband Sheppard Baker for 1850 TX census information giving her birthplace as MO.
She is sometimes described as "part Indian" but I see no evidence of this so far. SINA was born at Missouri, USA, in February 1830.6,4,7,8,9 She married SHEPPARD (SHEPHERD) "Shep" BAKER at Williamson, Texas, USA, on 7 August 1849.10,11,12,13,5,14 As of 7 August 1849,her married name was BAKER.10,11,12,13,5,14 She moved in 1900 at Lakewood, Eddy, New Mexico, USA.15,16 SINA HARRIS lived on 1 April 1910 at Lakewood, Eddy, New Mexico, USA; aged 80, 1910 census, 10 children, 5 living in 1910, living with son Joe Baker (see census details at Joe Baker).14 She moved after 11 April 1910 at Mayhill, Otero, New Mexico, USA.15 Her body was interred at Alamogordo, Otero, New Mexico, USA.17 SINA died after 11 April 1910.18
