JOHN GILILLAND1

M, b. 1765, d. June 1849
     JOHN GILILLAND Gil Gililland evidence:

"... John Gilliland (1765-1849) married Charity Richardson (1772-????) in South Carolina in 1792. ... The only reference I find to him in South Carolina records is his marriage to Charity. There are other S.C. census records indicating a John Gilliland in the Pendleton area but none fit his profile. Kentucky records indicate that he was for a time in Logan County and Simpson County and died in Simpson County at his daughter Martha Ann Reeders home."

Robert Gililland's tree:

"John Gilliland: b. South Carolina, 1766. Migrated from South Carolina to Logan County, Kentucky in the late 1700s or early 1800s. D. Simpson County, Kentucky, 06/1849. The 1850 Kentucky Mortality Schedule showed that he was a farmer and died of old age at his daughter, Martha Ann Gilliland Reeder's home.

+Charity Richardson: b. Anderson, South Carolina, 06/18/1772. Married: Anderson, South Carolina, 1792. She was the daughter of Mathias Richardson and Frances R. Clark. Her father, Mathias Richardson, served in the Revolutionary War."

This tree descends from John and Charity several generations. JOHN was born at Pendleton, Anderson, South Carolina, USA, in 1765. Robert Gililland's tree gives 1766 SC.2,3 He married CHARITY RICHARDSON at Anderson, South Carolina, USA, in 1792.2,1,3,4 JOHN died in June 1849 at Daughter Martha Ann's home, Simpson, Kentucky, USA. Robert Gililland's tree gives Jun 1849, Simpson Co, KY.2,1
