Louis was born at Missouri, USA, circa 1843. Webb evidence gives 1843; the Gililland Tree gives 1843 MO; 1850 census: 7 MO, implies ca 1843.^1,3,4

     Mary was born at Halifax, Halifax, Virginia, USA, in 1817. John R-Mary evidence gives her birthplace as Halifax Co, VA, date 1817, father James Ives..^1,2 As of 3 July 1842,her married name was Gililland.^3,4,5,6 She married John Richard Gililland at Lincoln, Missouri, USA, on 3 July 1842.^3,4,5,6,7 Mary died in 1896.⁸

     Elizabeth Rae Jennings See husband main text. Elizabeth was born at Virginia, USA, circa 1825.^4,5 As of 3 July 1842,her married name was Gililland.^6,7,8 She married Rev John Barnabus Gililland on 10 March 1847.^6,7,8

     She married Allen Johnson (Johnston) Gililland at Colorado, USA, after 1860. Note that one piece of evidence cites 3 children, the other mentions one son. One cites CO as marriage place, but the other takes its source as an AR census (but mentions that all 3 children were born in CO). I can't make sense of this..^1,2,3

     John Sanford Gililland From Gililland Research evidence (Webb 1992): "John Sanford GILILLAND - Nephew of Jesse Richardson. b. 31 Jan 1845 MO. Born at Ft. Howard, old Bailey's Place on a bluff not far from Cave Springs. This is on the Miss. River between St. Charles Co. and Lincoln Co. opposite Calhoun Co., IL. From "Pioneer History of Wise Co., TX" by Cliff D. Cates 1907. m. Mary Jane Kinnibrough from Siloam Springs, AR, Benton Co. m. Feb 1866 settled in Bloomfield, AR then moved to Decatur, TX. Children: [followed by a list of children, birthdates, birthplaces, deathdates, deathplaces - used as primary source of information here]"

The Springfield MO birthplace is from Webb 1993 evidence.

"According to Loren A. Gilliland of Bossier City, Louisiana, his ancestor was another John Gililland. He was John Sanford Gililland, b. Jan. 31, 1845, Lincoln Co., Springfield, Mo., d. Dec. 22, 1915, Decatur, Tex. He chose to spell his name differently [like we do]. He was the son of an A. J. Gililland (or Gilliland) ... [see his father for this part of the quote].

John Sanford Gililland (as he spelled it) m. Feb. 4, 1867, Mary Jane Kinnebrugh, b. Sept. 16, 1851, Silome Springs, Ark. They settled in Bloomfield, Ark. [61] (there is no Bloomfield on the Ark. map now) Later, ca. 1875, they moved to Decatur, Tex. Their family: [9 children listed with b an d dates and places].

According to his grandson, Loren A. Gililland of Bossier City, La., John S. related that he was descended from one of 5 brothers, who came from Ireland. (Sound familiar???)." John was born at Springfield, Lincoln, Missouri, USA, on 31 January 1845.⁵ He married Mary Jane Kinnebrew (Killebrew) on 4 February 1867.^6,7 He moved circa 1875 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA.⁸ John died on 22 December 1915 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, at age 70.⁵

     She married John Sanford Gililland on 4 February 1867.^2,3

     Edgar Allen Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Edgar Allen, b. Nov. 8, 1867, Bloomfield, Ark., d. Nov. 15, 1882, Decatur, Texas." Edgar was born at Bloomfield, Benton, Arkansas, USA, on 8 November 1867.² Edgar died on 15 November 1882 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, at age 15.²

     James K Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"James K., b. Apr. 5, 1869, bloomfield, Ark. d. Nov. 21, 1933, Tipton, Oklahoma."

His descendants come from the webpage evidence. James was born at Bloomfield, Benton, Arkansas, USA, on 5 April 1869.³ James died on 21 November 1933 at Tipton, Tillman, Oklahoma, USA, at age 64.³

     Almer Lee Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Almer Lee, b. Sept. 13, 1871, Bloomfield, Ark. d. Navasota, Texas." [note discrepancy on death place] Almer was born at Bloomfield, Benton, Arkansas, USA, on 13 September 1871.² Almer died on 30 June 1946 at Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas, USA, at age 74.²

     John Porter Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"John Porter, b. Sept. 7, 1873, Bloomfield, Ark., d. Nov. 15, 1916, Decatur, Texas." John was born at Bloomfield, Benton, Arkansas, USA, on 7 September 1873.² John died on 15 November 1916 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, at age 43.³

     Minnie Ola Gililland Middle name Ola supplied by webpage evidence.

"The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Minnie O., b. Apr. 12, 1876, Decatur, Tex., d. Aug. 1964, Ft. Worth, Tex. She m. a Mr. White." Minnie was born at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, on 12 April 1876.¹ She married (?) White.³ Minnie died on 10 August 1964 at Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, USA, at age 88.¹

     Myrtle F Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Myrtle F., b. Jun. 24, 1878, Decatur, Tex., d. Jun. 13, 1879, Decatur, Texas."

Her middle name is probably Forest since she has a niece by the name Myrtle Forest, by her brother James K. Myrtle was born at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, on 24 June 1878.² Myrtle died on 13 June 1879 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA.²

     Walter W Gililland The webpage evidence differs, giving dates: "9/29/1880 - 9/23/1931"

He is not listed in "The Loving Irish" evidence. Walter was born at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, on 24 May 1880.¹ Walter died on 21 September 1931 at Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, USA, at age 51.¹

     Robert Roy Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Robert Roy, b. Jan. 13, 1884, Decatur, Tex., d. 1943. He is buried at Decatur, Tex. His widow lives in Quannah, Texas." [note discrepancy in death date] Robert was born at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, on 13 January 1884.² Robert died on 7 November 1952 at Quanah, Hardeman, Texas, USA, at age 68.² His body was interred at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA.³

     Willie Estelle Gililland "The Loving Irish - The Gillillands", p 143:

"Willie Estelle, b. Oct. 29, 1888, Decatur, Tex., d. Feb. 3, 1890, Decatur, Texas." Willie was born at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, on 29 October 1888.² Willie died on 3 February 1890 at Decatur, Wise, Texas, USA, at age 1.²
