Riggs, Jane, of Newark, Essex Co.; will of. Cousin, Timothy Anderson, my land in the Great Neck, over the Great Cove, and is bounded east by said Timothy, and south and west by Jonas Harison; also 1/2 of a salt meadow between the Great Island and Hasake Pond. Cousin, Nathaniel Anderson, land in the Great Neck in Newark, being part of a lot reserved out of a lot which my husband, Joseph Riggs, in his lifetime, sold to my brother, John Plum; also a small lot in the Great Neck, near the Great Swamp; also 1/2 my salt meadow, between the Great Island and Hasake Pond. Rest of real and personal estate to Phebe, Hannah, Sarah, Mary and Jane, daughters of my brother, John Plum; Sarah Ayres and Mary Miller, daughters of my sister, Anderson; Phebe Crane, the daughter of Elias Crane; Hanah, daughter of Rufus Crane; the widow of Joseph Crane, equal shares to all the daughters of Elihu Crane; a single share to be divided between them; all the daughters of Lewis Crane, deceased, a single share; all the daughters of Timothy Anderson a half share, and all the daughters of Nathaniel Anderson a 1/2 share, to be divided between them. Executors - Elihu Crane, Timothy Anderson and John Ogden. Witnesses - William Grant, Joseph Beach, John Brant. Proved Sept. 22, 1780.
Lib. 22, p. 254."
An ancestral file has Jane's sister Hannah married to Nathaniel Anderson, so she is perhaps "sister, Anderson" with daughters Sarah Ayres and Mary Miller. It also has Jane's sister Mary married to Elihu Crane, leaving progeny at time of this will of Isaac, Hannah, Phoebe, Elihu, Lewis (deceased), Christopher (deceased), and Charles (deceased). This would explain "daughters of Lewis Crane" and "daughters of Elihu Crane". Unexplained are Isaac Plum, Rufus Crane, Elias Crane, "cousins" Timothy and Nathaniel Anderson, "widow of Joseph Crane." - [S1224] Unknown compiler, "John PLUM Ancestral File", Ancestral File.
