Religion: (an unknown value).¹ He married Hannah Cook at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA.^1,2 Joseph was listed as a member of a church at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, on 30 August 1770.^1,3 He was living on 24 August 1785; oldest son at father's will.⁴ Joseph died in August 1814 at Amity, Washington, Pennsylvania, USA. But he has Joseph born in Amity too which I don't think is correct and may cast doubt on this death place and date as well.⁵

June 1, 1788, Henry, b. Sept. 25, 1790." Gideon was born before 9 September 1753.² He was baptized at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, on 9 September 1753. Religion: (an unknown value). Harry Moore has this 9 Sep 1755 and baptism confused with birth as usual. He supplies Morristown as place..^2,3 He married Rachel Minthorn at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, on 3 November 1779. Harry Moore gives ca 1786.^2,4 Gideon Riggs Jr was living on 24 August 1785; at father's will.⁵ Gideon was listed as a member of a church at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, on 22 August 1822.⁶ He moved on 15 April 1823 at Chatham, Morris, New Jersey, USA. Date his is dismissed from Morristown Presbyterian.^4,6 Gideon died in 1830.³

"40. Josiah (Junia) Riggs^6 (son of Gideon,^5, Joseph,^4, Edward,^3, Edward,^2, Edward^1) was born at Morristown, N.J., February 9, 1755. He was baptized and married and conveyed land under the name of "Junia," but he was called Josiah in the family, and his father so designated him in his will. October 26, 1783, he married Jemima Cooper, who was born April 1, 1756, and died April 3, 1836. He was a farmer, lived near New Vernon in Morris County, N.J., and died December 23, 1831, leaving the following family.

means that in Jun 1780, Aaron Riggs was a single man who worked for hire (and furthermore that he was not rated in Jun 1778, probably meaning that he was not of age, although it appears from the given birthdate that he WOULD have been 21 in Jun 1778)

"55. Aaron Riggs (son of Gideon, Joseph, Edward, Edward, Edward) was born in Morristown, N.J., September 12, 1756. On June 29, 1787, he united with the church, and on June 12, 1811, he and his wife Abigail were dismissed to go to the "Western country," which in this case was understood to be Seneca County, N.Y. Harry Moore says "bef 1783" (birth of Susannah Wood Riggs).^2,7 Aaron Riggs [Wa55] was living on 24 August 1785; youngest son at father's will.⁸ Aaron was listed as a member of a church at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, on 29 June 1787.^2,9 He moved on 12 June 1811.
