Father | Sir PETER WOUTERS VAN DER MEULEN |
PETER MILLS [Mi1] The Peter Mills family has been documented very carefully, since I entered the Mills data here, by Helen Schatvet Ullmann, CG, FASG, in her "Descendants of Peter Mills of Windsor, Connecticut." It should be consulted for the most accurate details.
Stiles (Windsor), 494:

About 1650 he there joined the refugees who had come thither for conscience's sake, from Eng., and thus aroused the displeasure of his father, who disinherited him. In Col. Rec., Vol. I (office of Sec'y of State, Hartford, Conn.), it is stated that, by his own requenst, his name was changed to Peter Mills, Van der Meulen, being in Dutch "the man of the Mill." He m.
