Ernest August Kohn This brief sketch provided by William Urban (via letter from Colin Hargreaves, Jan 31, 1990): "Very prominent family in Austin, Texas - baking and banking. US Merchant Marine in World War II.'' Ernest was born on 3 March 1899. Ernest died on 13 May 1963 at age 64.

     She married Chester Juvenal. She married John Robert Harshey. Molly was born at San Marcos, Hays, Texas, USA, on 3 October 1922. She died on 12 May 2004 at age 81.¹

     He married Molly Jane Kohn. Chester Juvenal Chester Juvenal. Lives in Austin, Texas (1990, according to William Urban [1355]). Chester was born at Encinal, La Salle, Texas, USA, on 26 January 1921. He died on 10 December 2002 at age 81.¹

     ROSETTA MOORE The Webb and IGI evidence give 26 Jan 1850 as birthdate. The Dundee evidence gives 22 Jan. Two of the three IGI sources gives father's middle initial as H; the other gives A. Webb gives middle name as Henry. She From Webb 1993 evidence:

"Rosetta's grand daughter, Mary Raley Wright, told me that Rosetta was a very tall woman with medium to dark wavy brown hair. She stood and walked very straight and lived in a nice house in the 'College Addition' of Alamogordo, N M. Once when Bob Raley was in jail in Alamo, Lucy took the family to visit with her mother and with her husband in Alamogordo. It took two days to travel the 50 or so miles in a wagon with 7 children. When they arrived at Rosetta's home she offered them some lovely ripe peaches to eat. The Raley family lived on the desert and did not enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables that urban towns afford so they really relished the juicy peaches. After each child had eaten 2 peaches, their grandmother put all the rest of them away saying that more than that would make them sick. This was true of course, but Mary, about 10 years old thought it was the most cruel thing that a grandmother could do to her grand children whom she saw so seldom.

No one else in the family could tell me anything else about Rosetta. I have a pencil drawing of her and her husband, Will, that is in the NM Historical Records at N M State Univ. at Las Cruces, N M. I do not know if these drawings resemble the real people or not, but they are all I have and my only source.

Rosetta's father, John Henry Moore, must have been a huge man.

Will and Rosetta had 4 children tin Brown County, TX then moved to Kimble County where 4 more children were born then they spent a year or so on the Mimbres River in Grant County, N M where some of Rosetta's relatives lived. After that they moved to the homestead on the Fresnal River near High Rolls, N M in the Sacramento Mountains, little Johnny was born there but he did not survive. My grandmother remembers it as being muddy and very cold in the winter.

Will was known to have spent time in jail for tarring and feathering preachers, several preachers. It caused him to lose his homestead in Kimble County after which he recorded all land in Rosetta's name. Most of this information came from talks with his 3rd child, my grandma Lucy. After Will lost his Kimble Co. place he put all land in Rosetta's name only from then on.

The Gililland homestead on the Fresnal River had to be sold to cover court costs when Jim, oldest son, was tried for murder. We were able to visit and take pictures of this site during the Meyer Reunion in 1989. It has changed hands 13 times since Will and Rosetta homesteaded it. The present owner was very happy to meet us since he was very interested in his land transactions.

14 Jul 1885 Rosetta signed land over to be siezed by the Kimble County Sheriff Siezed by the court and filed 30 Dec 1887, Vol 2, p. 555. Located in Deeds and Records, Kimble Co., TX Courthouse. Land was auctioned off but didn't bring a high enough price so it was held to be auctioned later. The Gililland family never returned to TX. The land had to be sold to cover a fine that Will incurred in Travis County. Photocopy in poss Maurine De Arman Webb.

NOTE: The 'Allison' listed with this family is male, b Abt 1847, no record of him after the move to TX. Susan and Catherine may be children of a former marriage since John is some 23 years older than Mary.

This family left IL around 1853 [should be 1863 probably?] and walked to TX. They had a wagon pulled by a milk cow with a goat tied to the back. It took 2 years for the trip and they may have lost a child on the way. Census records indicate that they settled in San Saba, Brown County, TX. Living family members have no memories of this family. (1975).

I have in my possession a hand made fine linen dress made by Rosetta Moore Gililland for her daughter Lucy Lucinda Gililland who married Bob Raley."

The death certificate and funeral record for LUCRETIA ANN GILILLAND both list the mother's maiden name as ROSETTA LAFAYETTE (father as W F, or WILLIAM, GILILLAND). Nobody in the current family understands this.

Nielson: Rosetta Rosella MOORE. ROSETTA was born at Coles, Illinois, USA, on 26 January 1850. Her obituary says 1849 in Montague Co IL. Death certificate says IL, 65 yrs before death on 17 Dec 1915, implying ca 1850..^{2,7,3,8,4,9,10} She moved circa 1855 at Brown, Texas, USA. "The deceased was born in Montague county, Illinois in 1849, her maiden name being Moore. At six years of age she moved with her parents to Brown County, Texas.".⁹ She married WILLIAM FRANKLIN GILILLAND at Texas, USA, in October 1871.^{11,12,13,8,4,10,6,14} As of October 1871,her married name was GILILLAND.^{13,11,12,8,4,10,6,14} She moved after October 1871 at Kimble, Texas, USA. "The deceased was born in Montague county, Illinois in 1849, her maiden name being Moore. At six years of age she moved with her parents to Brown County, Texas. In 1870 she was married to Mr. Gililland and later moved to Kimball County, Texas".⁹ ROSETTA died on 17 December 1915 at Alamogordo, Otero, New Mexico, USA, at age 65.^{11,12,7,3,8,9,10} Her body was interred on 19 December 1915 at Alamogordo, Otero, New Mexico, USA, at Monte Vista Cemetery, SW part Protestant section.^4,9

     He married Sarah Lorena Callaway. John Murphee Delony Source: Runge Cemetery tombstone. He was a teacher, principal, rancher, cotton farmer, and a graduate of Sam Houston College at Huntsville, Texas. Was called "Professor''. John was born on 18 August 1867. John died on 29 October 1932 at Runge, Karnes, Texas, USA, at age 65. His body was interred at Runge, Karnes, Texas, USA, at Runge Cemetery.

     He married Grace Isalynd Callaway. Carl was born on 6 July 1891. Carl died on 23 September 1985 at Runge, Karnes, Texas, USA, at age 94.

     He married Anne Maria Hargreaves at Kerrville, Kerr, Texas, USA. Alois died. He "I [Ophelia Fink] have in my possession a very moving account, written by Ann Coutret, of the hurricane of 1875 that destroyed old Indianola on the Texas coast. It was there that young Alois lost his parents and older sister. I believe this horrible event must have influenced him greatly throughout his life ..." [p 54 of the Hargreaves Sesquicentennial book, edited by Colin Hargreaves] Alois was born at Indianola, Calhoun, Texas, USA, on 7 October 1860.

     Henry was born at Kerrville, Kerr, Texas, USA, on 3 December 1901. Henry died on 26 August 1990 at Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas, USA, at age 88.¹

     William Davis That he was born in England is not supported by the evidence listed. William was born at England in 1795.¹ He married Charlotte King at St. James, Paddington, London, London, England, on 5 June 1825.¹ William died on 15 July 1867 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia. His body was interred on 16 July 1867 at Adelong, New South Wales, Australia.¹

However, a family group sheet gives her first husband as Thomas Henry Hawthorn. Charlotte was born at England in 1796. She married William Davis at St. James, Paddington, London, London, England, on 5 June 1825.² Charlotte died on 10 September 1845 at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.² Her body was interred on 12 September 1845 at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia, at Pioneer Cemetery.²

     Alva was born on 19 May 1879. She married Henry Edwin Hargreaves at Choate, Karnes, Texas, USA, on 26 April 1898. Alva died on 15 March 1917 at age 37.

     Wilton Loftin Hargreaves Has 5 daughters and 2 sons, no grandsons. Source: Mabel Hargreaves Taylor Menard County History, 1980. Birth and death information from a Funeral Notice in Ophelia Fink's possession, Apr 24, 1988. Pawnee is near Runge, TX. He is buried in the Pawnee Cemetery. The birth date is derived from the funeral notice which state that he was aged 85 at death. Couch is in Karnes County, Texas. I believe it no longer exists. Wilton was born at Couch, ?Karnes, Texas, USA, on 15 April 1899. Wilton died on 26 September 1984 at Pawnee, Bee, Texas, USA, at age 85. His body was interred at Pawnee, Bee, Texas, USA, at Pawnee Cemetery.

     James Richard Hargreaves Has 3 sons and 1 daughter. Each of their 2 eldest sons has a son. Source: Mabel Hargreaves Taylor Menard County History, 1980.      Albert Calhoun Taylor Jr He and his brother [1152] were born on a ranch. He is buried in Menard, Texas. Albert was born at Schleicher, Texas, USA, on 27 March 1920. Albert died on 30 May 1930 at age 10.

     Vaulter was born at Kerrville, Kerr, Texas, USA, on 14 November 1924. Vaulter died on 23 March 1991 at San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA, at age 66.¹ His body was interred after 23 March 1991 at San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA, at Mission Burial Park South.²

     John Murphee Delony Jr John Murphee Delony Jr. Information from his brother David Delony at the Kenedy reunion, April 24, 1988. John died in the war. His wife Verna was from New York City. They had no children. John was born on 16 July 1914. John died on 8 August 1942 at age 28.

     Mary Virginia Hargreaves Ophelia Fink's family tree (4/24/88) lists his last name as Franks-Janswick (on two lines). The children bear only the Franks name. Perhaps Janswick is a second husband? In a letter Mary wrote (in Ophelia's possession), she records: "Our family are buried in the Yoakum Cemetery ... Head stones read as follows: Mother Mary Jane Townsend - 1843-1941 - AT REST; Father Spencer Burton Townsend - 1843-1933 - BELOVED FATHER FAREWELL (Our grandmother & grandfather on our mother's side); Nannie Lou (Townsend) Hargreaves - 1869-1930 - DARLING, HOW WE MISS YOU; Charles William Hargreaves - 1863 - [1954 penciled in].'' Mary was born on 25 December 1906. Mary died on 19 June 1984 at Vidor, Orange, Texas, USA, at age 77.

     He married Irene Gerhardt. Alois was born at Cuero, DeWitt, Texas, USA, on 10 July 1895. Alois died on 26 November 1985 at Goliad, Goliad, Texas, USA, at age 90.

     She married William Jefferson Porter. Ethel was born at Kerrville, Kerr, Texas, USA, on 28 February 1894. Ethel died on 9 February 1930 at Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas, USA, at age 35.

     Haysel Lee Parsons She died with son [1586] in Bexar County near San Antonio, Texas in an auto accident. Haysel was born at Choate, Karnes, Texas, USA, on 6 August 1918. Haysel died on 10 July 1956 at Bexar, Texas, USA, at age 37.
